We've been home from Arizona for about a month now. Things are getting organized and the horses are back to their routine.
We have now acquired some high quality mares for our breeding program and will be selling our proven, reliable mares. Have a look and contact us for more details. If you want to breed, you'll want to get them home right away. They are healthy, fit and ready to breed.
Breeze (SG Aech She Smart) online for trail riding, youth, versatility or ranch work. She has loads of experience and is a reliable steed.
Lisa (Truckin Lisa Marie) was never officially trained but has served us well for casual trail rides as well as her excellent breeding bloodlines. Kevin Stallings, her sire's champion rider was just recently inducted into the hall of fame at NRCHA. Check out his video here. Lisa is open and available to breed.
Reye (Purple Dual Rey) is a direct grand-daughter of the great, Dual Rey via Marque Dual Rey and Purple Pistol. She was trained and shown as a cutting horse with some success. She is no longer sound for showing or riding but is an excellent mom, catching on the first try, gentle and friendly at pasture. She's open and ready for you to breed.
Dora (Mates Footsteps) is getting on, at 22 years now. She caught well last year and had no problem carrying or raising a beautiful foal. She is sound at pasture but we haven't ridden her. She could likely carry one more foal at least before she retires. But unless I find a very reliable home, we'll let her enjoy her later years at leisure on the ranch. She's open and ready to breed.
The weather has definitely been interesting with mud, rain and lately snow! Fortunately, our new outdoor arena is performing beautifully, shedding the water so we can ride quickly after a rain.
We aren't expecting any foals this spring but hopefully have two mares bred. We bred Bayywatch while down south to Scooter Kat for an early baby in 2026. Our Hashtags daughter, Miss Smarthash, (Ginger), has just recently been bred to Hendrixx, John Swales' chill stud. Of course, being a ginger mare, she needed a special Hendrixx delivery over the long Easter weekend. Hopefully, we'll have good news on that in a couple weeks.
Our 2024 babies have grown and are ready for some handling. They had a great winter running together and although they don't mind visitors, they aren't very used to haltering just yet. We'll be working on that over the next weeks. We introduce to you;
Metallic Hughes (Metallic Cat x Bayywatch) - red roan stud colt with two front socks, two hind stockings and a star on his forehead. We call him "Hugh" after his grand-sire.
Truckin Crown Whisky (Special Made Whiskey x Truckin Lisa Marie) - solid sorrel colt with a forehead star. We call this fellow "Crown"- after Massimo's favourite whiskey.
Mistral Sail Smart (North Sail Solitaire x SG Aech She Smart) - solid sorrel filly with lighter mane and tail, star, strip and snip on her face. She's called "Mistral", a cold wind from the north of France.
PG Mates Bella (PG Flash x Mates Footsteps) - sorrel filly with broad blaze, rear left stocking and coon ticking above her tail. This one is "Bella", italian for 'beauty', named by Catherine Wyckmans Garlanda.
PG Rey Bonita (PG Flash x Purple Dual Rey) - bay filly with flaxen mane and forehead star. Our youngest son found this baby very shortly after birth and called her "Bonita" - maybe a favourite pizza place in TO?
Our 2022 colts are now three years old - it flies by so fast! Truckin Luna Picasso (Luna - Cats Picasso x Truckin Lisa Marie) has been training and hauling to shows all winter and is coming along nicely. Genius Smart Niño (El Nino - BK Spark of Genius x SG Aech She Smart) is starting to catch up. He's quite sensitive but what a natural on the flag! Last but not least, Hic Hic O Rey (Pistol - Hickory Hello x Purple Dual Rey) is the friendly school master of the 2024 babies. She is riding smoothly as well. You'll be seeing more of them soon!
